Every Grain of Sand
by Bob Dylan

In the time of my confession,
in the hour of my deepest need
When the pool of tears beneath my feet
flood every newborn seed.

There's a dyin' voice within me
reaching out somewhere,
Toiling in the danger and in
the morals of despair.

Don't have the inclination to
look back on any mistake,
Like Cain,
I now behold this chain of events
that I must break.

In the fury of the moment
I can see the Master's hand
In every leaf that trembles,
in every grain of sand.

Oh, the flowers of indulgence
and the weeds of yesteryear,
Like criminals,
they have choked the breath
of conscience and good cheer.

The sun beat down upon the steps
of time to light the way
To ease the pain of idleness
and the memory of decay.

I gaze into the doorway of
temptation's angry flame
And every time I pass that way
I always hear my name.

Then onward in my journey
I come to understand
That every hair is numbered
like every grain of sand.

I have gone from rags to riches
in the sorrow of the night
In the violence of a summer's dream,
in the chill of a wintry light.

In the bitter dance of loneliness
fading into space,
In the broken mirror of innocence
on each forgotten face.

I hear the ancient footsteps like
the motion of the sea
Sometimes I turn, there's someone there,
other times it's only me.

I am hanging in the balance
of the reality of man
Like every sparrow falling,
like every grain of sand.
I was such a big fan of Bob Dylan in the 60's and
early 70's. One of my favorite songs was
something about pie...

"...raspberry, strawberry, lemon 'r lime, what do I
care? (some more pies)...Call me for dinner,
honey, I'll be there!  Saddle me up that big white
goose...something something and turn 'er loose.
Oh me oh my; love that country pie!"

Can't believe I still get a kick out of that song at
74 years old.  LOL!

I read the poem (right) by Bob Dylan one morning
on my e-mail from the
Nazarenes and it really
shook me. He's not just a rock and roll musician
and troubadour, he's a poet and mystic. One finds
so much more and deeper meaning in these lines
each time they're read.

Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in
1988, Bob Dylan was the epitome of his times
and the times are still his. He also won a Pulitzer!

Country Pie

Just like old saxophone joe
When he’s got the hogshead up on his toe
Oh me, oh my
Love that country pie

Listen to the fiddler play
When he’s playin’ ’til the break of day
Oh me, oh my
Love that country pie

Raspberry, strawberry, lemon and lime
What do I care?
Blueberry, apple, cherry, pumpkin and plum
Call me for dinner, honey, I’ll be there

Saddle me up my big white goose
Tie me on ’er and turn her loose
Oh me, oh my
Love that country pie

I don’t need much and that ain’t no lie
Ain’t runnin’ any race
Give to me my country pie
I won’t throw it up in anybody’s face

Shake me up that old peach tree
Little jack horner’s got nothin’ on me
Oh me, oh my
Love that country pie

The Pleiadian Mystic
His chart ruler conjunct the Pleiades and his
Sun ruler square Neptune make Bob Dylan the
Pleiadian Mystic.  He is not from this earth, but
from the far away stars of the Weeping Sisters.
His soul is like "every grain of sand" from
another world; a world of the whimsical and
poignant.
