Mr. William Henry Gates III is a most interesting Scorpio. Since May 2006 Mr. Gates has appeared
on Donny Deutsch's THE BIG IDEA quite a few times in repeats. I happened to watch it each time
and tried to match the person I saw with the chart I've erected and rectified with the hint from John
Mirick. The birth time most given for him is 10AM.
First of all Bill's Scorpio Sun is on my Midheaven which makes him one of my "heroes". We have
the second decanate of Capricorn/Cancer on the Ascendant/decendant axis, only opposite. As
well as having opposing Suns, we have opposing Moons. We are both 5th house Suns which
means we could be great bridge partners, or blazing competitors. I don't know why we haven't met.
We run in a couple of the same circles! We both play bridge on Bridge Base online. We both
attend some of the ACBL national tournaments. The last two times I attended the nationals,
though, he went the first weekend and I went the second. Bummer!
The ruler of his Cancer Ascendant, Moon, is way up in the 10th House (area of career and public
standing) in the Sign of Aries (the first and the best!). Well, duh, who would have guessed?
The Moon is the only planet* above the horizon which could be seen at his birth making the Aries
Moon doubly important!
The rulers of his 10th house Midheaven, Neptune and Mars, are bookending Mercury in the 4th
House of home, family, and fame after death. Guess who's going to be remembered for a long, long

Don't think for a moment just because he's been named the richest man in the world for the past 12
years that he doesn't have his struggles and woes as all humans do. His birth chart is not easy and
he's had frustrations, doubts, irritations, impatience, sadness, and heartbreak the same as we all
have throughout life. Nevertheless, he presents a kind, nurturing Cancer Ascendant (persona) and
has been blessed by and through his children, wife, parents, grandparents, and friends. The
women in his life are strong, independent, very intelligent, and can give him a run for his money
(hmmmm, pun?). But, he loves the challenge of that and his sense of humor gets him through most
of his grumps. Let me say, it ain't easy being a Scorpio especially with Aries Moon opposite
Mercury/Mars and sesquadrate Venus/Saturn.

rectify his chart, but the facts don't tell me what really makes Mr. Gates tick. After erecting his birth

butter 'n jelly kind of a guy!
