The Cancer Solstice
Mon. Jun 21, 2010.
Today is the first day of Summer, the Cancer Solstice, and the Cancer Ingress.  The Cancer Ingress
means that the Sun is in the 0º of the Sign of Cancer which denotes the first day of Summer. Solstice
means that, from the earth, the Sun appears to "stand still" in its everyday movement from nearly due
East rising at Spring Equinox to the Cancer Solstice, rising at its most Northeastern point for three days
"standing still", then rising a bit less Northeastern each day until reaching the Autumnal Equinox (due
East and equal day and night) at which time the Sun begins to rise a bit Southerly each day until the
Capricorn Solstice in December.

If the above is "clear as mud", look up
SEASONS OF THE YEAR for pictures and explanations.  I've
also written a bit about it in
MY LUNAR JOURNAL from when I marked a good chunk of Sunrises on my
picture window facing the Gulf of Mexico

The Solstice Chart is not only good for the month of Cancer, but serves as a general outlook for the next
three months (until the Autumnal Equinox).  With the Moon void of course, we, here at home in U.S. are
rather frozen emotionally or with
"bated breath"  as we wait for the next ax to fall.

"To moderate or restrain (a variation of "abate"): to bate one's enthusiasm, and, "to lessen or
diminish," and "with bated breath - in a state of suspenseful anticipation."

With all the floods, tornadoes, fires, and the oil spill, it seems like " somebody up there"  doesn't like us.

Later on today, when the Moon enters Scorpio, we receive a grand water trine which means a blessing
is on hand.  Let's pray fervently for an end to this destruction, especially now that Hurricane season is
upon us.

The Cancer Sun is also involved within a cardinal cross with Mars, Pluto, Jupiter and Uranus. This can
be an indication of the next three months, too.  We don't have to work for the Grand Cardinal Cross; it's
at work!  But, we do have to work to bring about the blessing of the Grand Water Trine.  That's why they
call the oppositions and squares "hard"  aspects and the trines and sextiles, "soft."  Hard is much more
difficult to eradicate than soft, no?
