| The Solar Eclipse in Capricorn seems like such a simple chart. It falls in the 3rd House of communication in Washington, D.C.calling for diplomacy and "be nice" words. (Venus who knows how to be diplomatic and nice is right there.) For those who are new to Astrology, note that the part of fortune is right on the Ascendant. The rule for the part of fortune is that it is as far away from the Ascendant as the Moon is from the Sun. That means it is like a phase period similar to the Lunar Phases except it has to do with how one faces the world rather than a Spirit/soul connection. The Ascendant is how one protects self, sees the world, one's persona and physicality, how one thinks one should be (which may be a far cry from how one really is). With Scorpio rising and Pluto in Capricorn on the 3rd House cusp, we keep our mouths shut and go to work without complaint. There's a lot of work to be done and, since Scorpio and Pluto rule the 8th House, we put our BIG money where our mouths are! Saturn (our ruler) is the Midpoint of Mercury/Pluto as well as squaring same. Ebertin says that midpoint can indicate "overwork,...the exposure to heavy and bitter attacks..." We must keep balanced in all of our endeavors. |
