Happy Spring everyone (North of the Equator, that is).  Those of you South of the Equator, Happy
Autumn!).  I find it so much more invigorating to live by the duel calendar of the ancients than the
Roman derived one that begins in January. The Roman one has nothing to do with our environment.
We have nothing to relate it to except 12 pieces of paper.

Today is the equinox or equal days and nights.  It is the ancient first day of the year North of the
Equator. Our Spring Equinox is the first day of the Sign of Aries and this year within the Last Quarter
Phase of the Virgo full Moon. The Solar Calendar has 12 months.  The Lunar Calendar has 13. After
practicing this duel-phased calendar for awhile, it becomes so much more alive and inspirational
than the boring January to December one.

I believe that by following the astronomical calendar with the phases of the Moon that we extend our
environment much further out to and, perhaps, past the solar system.  Why not broaden our
horizons?  Wasn't it Robert Blake who said that our souls extend out far into space?  So why not live
like it? We are members of a vast solar system which is rather puny in the true scheme of things. It is
time we realized that we are members of a Universe, not just a race, culture, religion, or planet.  We
belong to a time and space that no one of us can truly imagine; it is so vast.

We trashed what the ancients knew and call it progression. We say Astrology is superstition; set up
small amounts of people with biased questions and the answers we call scientific statistics.  We are
in a mess of a world and still follow a revised Roman/Papal calendar from the 15th century.  Can't
we do better? An interesting article on the
HISTORY OF THE CALENDAR.

DISSEMINATING PHASE OF PISCES new MOON
Sat. March 14, 2009.                                                  Keywords: Enthusiastic sharing and story telling.
Sun. March 15, 2009.  What a trip!!!  I arrived home on Friday evening, the 13th, because we had to stay
an extra day.  The trip was over on the 12th, but Mary and I stayed one more day in Cancun.

I think that this was the best trip I have ever taken and guess what?  I lost 7 pounds!!!  I've never walked so
much in my life or took so many stairs, but I don't care; it was so much fun and so interesting.  I love Mexico,
the people, and the sites.  The food is good, too, but I did get a touch of Montezuma's Revenge the 2nd
day there. We happened to spend 2 nights there and so I got all better before getting back on the tour bus.
Thank goodness.

What really irks me, though, is that my pictures did not come out in order.  So, I have many titled, "don't
remember this place."   Wonder why cameras do that?  Anyway, here are a few highlights:
1st night in Cancun; out my window.
The pool at The Lodge in Uxmal
I think these are ruins at Edzna;
State of  Compeche.
My wood carved door at
The Lodge.
Interesting ruins; Uxmal, Mexico
There was a rope to hold on to.
Hacienda Sotuta de Peon.
Sisal Plantation; Izamal.
Not sure where
this is, but the
statue is of
The Lovers! A
beautiful place.
Alicia at The Lodge with amigos.
One of my favorite spots;  Edzna.
Nuestros tres AMIGOS.
Alejandro, Alejandro, y Gerardo
The Lovers
A beautiful statue on the grounds of
a fabulous house.  I forgot where.

Later on the 15th:  I had so much fun putting this page together.  Yesterday was Len's birthday so
we celebrated his and Joe's birthdays in the afternoon with Lasagna and Len's good home-made
wine.

It's good to go away, but it's always good to come home!
Last Quarter Phase of the PISCES new Moon
Wed. March 18, 2009.                                                           Keywords: Release, let go, be grateful.
Today I wrote a letter to my family about President Obama.  I really want to do more for him, but
people have such set minds and I don't have that much influence by trying to talk away their opinions.
I just wish things were different; ah it'll come, but slowly.  Here is my letter:

Hi all,

I realize that many of my family and friends voted Republican and, perhaps, feel some
antagonism towards our new President.  Some are fearful of the future under his
leadership.

Those of you who know me well know that I am a registered Republican who voted for
Obama.  I have never been very politically minded, but I felt called to support this man even
before he announced his decision to run in January 2007.

I really am disappointed in the mass media and pundits who make their living criticizing
our President ad nauseam.  He is our President now and, even if he makes mistakes,
which he will, we need to examine his ideas and ideals objectively before speaking out
negative and old, stale opinions to anyone who'll listen.

Right now we have a chance to review and ponder President Obama's projected budget.
And, we also have a voice to approve or disapprove.  I urge those of you who are unhappy
with the election results to suspend your disapproval for a bit and get familiar with his
plans.  They are out there for all to see.  We don't have to listen to Haggerty to know how
or what to think!

Blessings,

Sue

BALSAMIC Phase of the Moon
Sun. Mar 22, 2009.                                                             Keywords: surrender, rest, recuperation.
The next three days before the new Moon are times for reflection and rest. What were my intentions
for this new Moon in Pisces, full moon in Virgo?  I remember that I wrote on my Children of the Sun
page that I wanted to be a "beautiful" rather than an ugly American in Mexico. I wanted to respect
those I met and spread kindness (something like that).  I think that I did although I have to say that all I
met there were kind and respectful to me; I really like the Mexican people and I liked the trip there.  I
pray that their troubles will be ended soon; ours too!
