| Jane Fonda has always interested me as she was born the same year as I was and has all the generational planets, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, in the same Signs. In fact, we have Uranus in the same degree. However, many articles proclaim her as a "baby boomer", I would assume because of her Vietnam War protest. Although I appreciate many of their ideas, I'm most certainly not a baby boomer. She married Roger Vadim in 1967 and had a daughter, Vanessa, on September 28, 1968. She divorced Vadim in 1973. She tells in her autobiography, My Life So Far, that Vadim forced her to have three-way sex. She writes: "For me to be with Roger Vadim, that meant bringing other women into our bed. It seems shocking that I did that, but I managed to convince myself that it was fine, that it was what I wanted despite the fact it was killing my heart."Fonda - How sad; we look to her chart to see whatever could be the aspect that reflects that humiliation. She has a YOD between Sun (spirit) sextile Mars (male & sex) with both inconjunct Pluto Rx in the 7th House of intimate partners. Pluto also represents the tyrant and, particularly in her chart, it rules the Scorpio 10th house of a parent, but being in the 7th can signify that she was subconsciously looking for a parent in her mate. Of course, that search was unconscious, but when a man appeared to fit the bill of her Pluto archetype, she had to have him. Being Jane Fonda, she got what she wanted. I'm sure she is much more careful now. Loss of her Mother at 12 years of age left a deep wound and, with Cancer on her 7th House of marriage, she could have been looking for a nurturing mother archetype. With Pluto there, however, she became the living myth of Persephone who was kidnapped by Hades (Pluto). YOD means "finger of God," and when one appears it signifies that a total compromise must be made concerning the archetypal meanings of the planets involved. Ms. Fonda had little choice there; it was so solidly stamped into her psyche that she felt compelled to follow her subconscious prodding towards the men who she felt that she needed to complete herself; her other piece so to speak.
