astrologizing.net When Will Venus Conjunct Uranus? A simple math lesson
Yesterday I received my daily transits from StarIQ and it said that, "on the16th transiting Venus would conjunct my Uranus!" I'd been planning on buying my tickets to visit Miami next month, but didn't have the foggiest idea when would be a good time. Some people say, "on Wednesday night;" others say, "try at different times!" I started out checking last week and it was $307. and this week it's up to $378. I have until the 23rd to buy within three weeks of leaving. I decided to find out exactly when transiting Venus would conjunct my Uranus and buy my tickets then. Actually, I have 36,695 miles to work with. I would love to get a free ticket. Venus rules my 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 9th Houses; the ruler of my Sun Sign, Moon Sign, and decan of my Ascendant. She ought to do me good; don't you think? For those of you who don't do slide rules or know how to figure when the planets meet exactly, here's a little task of arithmetic to learn using a midnight ephemeris: My Uranus is 10º Taurus 42' The ephemeris reads 10º 33'on the 16th of June and 11º 35' on the 17th of June. My Uranus is inbetween those two so I subtract them: 11 35 - 10 33 = 1º 02' or 62' (62 minutes) Then I subtract the lowest position of Uranus on the 16th from my Uranus: Uranus: 10º 42' - 10 33 = 9' I now have an arithmetic problem that I can solve. Here it is: If Venus travels 62 minutes in 24 hours, how far does she travel in 9 minutes? It looks like this: 62' = 24 hours 9' = ? (How many?) Remember to keep apples and oranges on the correct side. Your minutes go together on the left and your hours go together on the right. Now you cross multiply: 9 X 24 and then divide by 62. Use your calculator: 9 X 24 = 924 /62 =3.484 So now what? You write down 3 hours. You then minus the 3 hours and multiply the fraction by 60 to get the minutes. The answer is 29 ‘. So the total time is 3 hours and 29 minutes. I've forgotten the question already? Now we add the result to the ephemeris time which is 12 am. 12 + 3 hours and 29 minutes =15 hours and 29 minutes. It is 3: 29am on the 17th of June in Greenwich when Venus conjuncts Uranus. The question is, what time is it where I am? Now the tricky part: Because we're on CDT here in my area of Florida, we are 5 hours behind Greenwich Time. So, you subtract 5 hours from 15h 29' and your result is 10h 29' pm CDT on June 16, 2009.

There is one more pattern that I didn't draw in as # 4 and that is the grand earth trine working from transiting Saturn conjunct natal Neptune trine progressed Midheaven and natal ascendant trine natal Mercury and waiting for those progressions and transits to connect in Taurus. Progressed Moon will connect about when I'm leaving next month and transiting Venus/Mars connects in the next couple of days. I didn't want to add any more red boxes; it was beginning to look like Ezekiel's wheel! I can't wait to see what will happen. I don't do hororary astrology; I don't even know how to spell it, lol, but I do like to know exactly when something like Venus is going to hit Uranus. Maybe that is a form of hororary? I've been a professional Astrologer for 34 years, but I learned at a time when we had to do all the arithmetic by hand and so I like to fool around with it a bit to keep in touch. Actually, I didn't learn the calculator until after I took the professional exam for AFA. We used logarythms (can't spell that either) in the back of our ephemerides. Well, shoot, got a red line under that word, too! It's better now; we're saving trees. I hate to think of all the paper we used back then. I'll let you know if I get a free ticket from the airlines

10:03pm CDT. I'm getting ready to contact the airlines, but strange things happened today. Our TV developed a loud hum and violet and green stripes in the picture like we used to get from interference. Tonight my microwave went out, too. Could all this be from Venus conjunct Uranus? I got my free ticket at just a few minutes before 10:29pm CDT! YEA!
