Saturday; August 30, 2008: It's new Moon in Virgo time!  What is the question? What is the best intention?
The questions is: whom may I serve? No Sign speaks of service better than Virgo except, perhaps,
her axis partner, Pisces. Virgo is the Sign of discipline, diet, dharma
(I love alliteration) and the 6th House in
one's natal chart shows where one's dharma or path of righteousness can be followed in the best way. One
must consider the House that Virgo rules in the birth chart as well. Then, too, whatever planets and their
aspects are involved in those Houses.

For instance, my 6th house is Gemini which may indicate siblings and neighbors to be included in whom it is
good for me to serve. I have Chiron in the 6th trine Venus in the 3rd which also indicates siblings and
neighbors.  However, Venus rules the 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 9th Houses in my chart, my Taurus Sun, Libra Moon,
and my Capricorn 2nd decanate on the Ascendant. One could say I need to be serving just about everyone!
With a Chiron/Venus trine, it should be easy for me, No?

Then, I have South node in the 6th House which denotes that I've been menially serving for a lot of lifetimes and
I should have that down pat by now. But, how do I transfer to the North note in the 12th?  I haven't a clue...

The best intention is: how may I serve? I have a couple of days to think about this before making my
intentions firm.

Sunday; August 31, 2008: Still thinking...

Monday; September 1, 2008; 10:25 am CDT: Gustav has hit land and, so far, all is well. I live about 240
miles East of New Orleans and we've had some wind and some rain, but nothing dangerous.  We also had a
tornado warning, and I saw the fire department and ambulance a few houses down.

In a way, I'm glad today is a holiday; less traffic on the streets and probably safer because of it. We have quite a
few refugees from Louisiana and Mississippi staying here in motels.  May the Lord bless all those affected by
this hurricane; that they may return to their homes safely and no damage to their property.

Tuesday; September 2, 2008:  If my parents were alive and had stayed married, today would be their 72nd
anniversary!  Funny, at my age, what I forget and even funnier what I remember.

I've still got the north node in the 12th on my mind. I'll have to look that up a few places before I get the meaning
clear in my mind. Here's what
Sky View Zone says:

The universe is encouraging you to play up your North node sign traits in these areas of life.
Consider the following: give of yourself without an underlying motivation of reward. Practice random acts of
kindness... just because you can.
Discover that it's possible to be alone and not feel lonely. This happens when one realizes their connection
to the Infinite Mind, also described as the Creator, the Universal Will, or a Higher Power.
This is a lifetime to learn the value of working behind the scenes in some capacity. This means that outer
recognition is not the aim this time around, even though that might happen naturally. Often this can take the
form of connecting and working through large public institutions caring for those who must be secluded
from society.
Whatever form the actual experiences take, this placement encourages the development of humility,
compassion and spiritual awareness.

That's pretty cool, but it could be North node in the 6th as well. Let's see what Cafe Astrology has to say:

A tendency to worry unremittingly, to be plagued by vague (and sometimes not so vague) feelings of guilt
about under-performing, to lack faith and trust in a larger more spiritual plan, and to over-analyze ourselves
and others are some of the issues this position suggests. With this position, we need to put some faith in
spiritual powers or the "big picture", to let go of some of our fears that we are not doing enough, to love
ourselves and others with more compassion and understanding, and to be humble, feeling safe in the
knowledge that we (and others) are not perfect. We need to trust and develop our imagination, as well as
our capacity for compassion. Learning to let go of some of our obsessions with rules, details, and fears of
not doing things perfectly will help us to achieve a greater sense of balance and to ease our fear of failure
and guilty feelings.

That's nice,  but also could be North node in the 6th.  And, I'm always suspicious of meanings that include Sign
as well as House.  They are not the same in my book; just related. Ok, one more; three strikes and I'm OUT! In
other words, I'll create my own meaning! Here is a quote from
Astrology Weekly about South node in 6th:

The sixth house is generally regarded as the house of service, so if you subscribe in the belief of
reincarnation, a sixth house South Node placement suggests many incarnations of service, especially in
medical professions. This may sound like a wonderful thing, and it is, yet such professions place extreme
importance upon getting things right because a mistake on the doctor's, nurse's, or surgeon's part can
literally mean the death of the patient. This is a huge responsibility, and one which many sixth house South
Node/Virgo South Node individuals have carried into this lifetime. This is the pattern of behavior we are
accustomed to because in these lifetimes, getting things right and doing things perfectly was rewarded both
materially and socially within the communities we were once a part of. However, those still struggling with
this karma often do not realize that they do not need to be perfect in this lifetime; indeed, the Universe will
not allow us to be perfect in this lifetime! Therefore, if we try to rigidly control events, things will most likely
come apart at the seams, leaving us stressed. The key is to learn trust and humility; this is our soul purpose,
at least for this lifetime.

This agrees with everything I've believed about my South node, but doesn't help with my North...let me look at
another site,
Astrology x-Files:

...the 12th represents the immediate past incarnation. In this approach, the south node represents those
qualities that we have an excess of (over the course of many lifetimes), and the north node, those qualities
which we tend to have neglected in the past. The north node and the 12th house therefore have this in
common as a driving force for the purpose of this lifetime and how we plan to finish or balance spiritual
growth. The squares to the nodes represent distractions, or potential traps on the way to the goal. The
Moon represents the past and habits in a more general sense or it can also represent what we need for the
future if its qualities are more in agreement with the qualities of the north node. These 3 positions
represent a major "molecule" from which astrologers can ascertain much about the "compounds" behavior
(souls development and future direction of growth) and hopefully help triangulate their approximate
position.

Oh well, back to the drawing board...I don't know anymore about North node in the 12th than I did before.
However, I did find this on
Astrology Weekly that explains nodes square Neptune:

Neptune square North Node:  This square indicates a situation in which the mystical tendencies of the
natives conflict with the more prosaic, down-to-earth customs and social institutions of their culture. Society
is likely to regard them as impractical dreamers or even as subversive influences who undermine traditional
religious and social concepts. They are likely to feel alone in a crowd and misunderstood by their peers.
Sometimes their preoccupation with visionary pursuits keeps them out of touch with the flow of events
around them, so that they react ineptly and confusedly.

Enough, already!!!
         Crescent Moon Phase
Wednesday; September 3, 2008: OK, I found something in Bob Marks astrology lessons.  He says:

North Node in Sagittarius: There is a strong need to get the big picture and not get bogged down in
everyday trivia. The negative side of that Gemini South Node is that it can talk incessantly about nothing. If
you have this one, there is a danger that  you will always be chasing after the next fad, the next “in thing”
and loose your own identity in the process. The tendency is to care too much about being “accepted.” That
Sagittarius North Node pushes you to take a stand on what you really believe in and not be so concerned
with what is “in” or “out.” Take more long trips instead of just hanging around the neighborhood. Put a little
adventure in your life. Instead of just finding out the latest facts, aim for the big picture and try to see what
they mean. If you have these Nodes and you find there is no meaning in your life, then you are spending too
much time on your Gemini South Node. Find a cause that turns you on and charge off to the crusade.

This says more to me than anything I've read; short, to the point, and helpful!  That's why I have him listed as the
best teacher online. He also says that the 12th is the House of 'psychological problems.'  Hmmm, I guess that
could be true; planets are distorted and bigger than life when viewed in the 12th from the vantage point of earth.
I have ruler of the 12th in the 1st and always believed that I was my own worst enemy.

Bob also gives an example:

Bill Cosby: also has a Sagittarius North Node. When he was a stand-up comic, he didn’t just tell jokes. His
style was to tell stories (Sagittarius). Of course, they were frequently long-winded and had no point (Gemini
South Node) but at least he tried to go in the right direction.

Now this really hits home. When I tell a story I frequently get interrupted, find my audience gazing out into space,
or yawning.  LOL, and now I just write, and write, and write...but that's ok; nobody has to read it.  Since I
probably have 'psychological problems' it's good for me to get it ALL out!

After some rough statements about the 12th House, Bob does say this:

The 6th house shows how we can put our own creativity to use. The Twelfth House shows how we can
inspire others to make best use of their own creativity. Yes, this house can be the dustbin of our
horoscope. But once we learn to deal with it, this house can become our greatest strength.

"...inspire others to make best use of their own creativity." That gives me something to go on and I'll look for
ways to do that.  Thanks, Bob.

My Intention is: to serve others, especially my family, neighbors, clients, and all who ask. I will
search for the words to inspire them to make the best use of their own creativity and keep it brief.

BACK to Pisces Full Moon
                First Quarter Moon
Sunday; August 7, 2008; 9:04am CDT         Keywords: crises, challenges, decisions, & determination
Here we go again...the last quarter Moon I was concerned about hurricane Hannah; now it's Ike!  So, I have
two choices fear; or love (which implies trust).  I choose love.  I watched a beautiful video called "I choose
Love" from youtube.com.  I'll put it on my site if I can find it and can figure out how to do so.
Gibbous Phase of the Moon
Sept. 11, 2008                                               Keywords: refine, adjust, be patient, optimistic, and grateful
A hard thing to do is be patient, but I've found that patience goes along with letting go and letting God;
whatever one calls the guiding force of life. Both of those qualities come under the heading of Faith.

It is also very difficult to look back on that terrible tragedy of 9/11/2001 and not feel pain, sorrow, and fear.  I
find that I have to talk to myself a lot every year come this memorial.

September 12, 2008
May all people threatened by the weather today be protected by their guardian angels.  We are working
towards the full Moon on Monday.  I would say that would make the tides and surges much higher than usual.

The winds are quite strong here about 10 hours from Houston, but not as seagulls fly. My dog was very
skittish on our walk last evening.  It must be true that even domestic animals know something is going on
that's different. She kept looking at me for assurance that everything was ok.
Pisces Full Moon
Monday, September 15, 2008                                                                    Keywords: completion,  fulfillment
I'm just sitting here waiting for the Moon to rise.  It will be about another 1/2 hour before I can see it. This has
been quite a day; bought a new outfit, exercised; tried to be a part of a telecast, but it was too noisy. I joined a
new group on the internet, it's called NFT.  It looks like a nice group. I'm trying to heal the psoriasis.  I think it's
about time for it to go; I've had it long enough.  I can't get Carol, my sister, on the phone.  I hear they are out of
electricity up there in Cincinnati from Ike.

Wednesday, September 17, 2008. Ok, Pisces full Moon call for surrender of some sort. Pisces is the 3rd
House cusp in my chart and I'm very concerned with my sister who lives in Ohio where 70 mile an hour winds
hit from hurricane Ike on the 14th.  Below is a chart for when the electricity went off in Cincinnati.  The chart is
for Clermont County where my sister lives (about 40 miles East of Cincinnati). 128,000 still do not have
electricity or phone in Clermont County.  See this page
HERE!  I guess I just have to surrender my worry.
Note the quincunxi (lol, quincunxes?) from Mercury, Venus, and Mars to Uranus; air and water! Not that
those aspects would always make hurricane damage; after all, those aspects are exact on the whole
earth at that point in time.  But, it sure is eerie anyway.  Cincinnati sure got lots of air (70 miles an hour),
compromised electricity (Uranus). But, they didn't get lots of water (Pisces)!

Later on: I feel very selfish for only mentioning concern for my sister when so much devastation has
gone on in Galveston and Houston. I'm lighting a candle for all those who have suffered from Hurricane
Ike.
